Our
Philosophy
-- Quoted from Flying South by J. Hamilton,
1989 The
old ways of war and struggle have always been our ways, even since
before we can remember. The hatred, anger, sorrow, and host of
other painful energies have accumulated and exploded from within
each of us like the tide’s ebb and flow from the beginning.
Is
there any hope of change away from conflict, both within and throughout
our world? I do not know with any certainty. Yet, I hope. The
idea of reaching beyond myself to touch the hearts of others – touching
with profound love, tenderness, and awe – not touching to
move or change but simply touching for its own sake, this idea
entices me.
And
if others feel free to touch my soul in the same way, that is
my hope – that we will touch each other’s hearts and
souls. Then we will recognize the glory and joy which is our identity.
Then we will put away our swords and revenge for pens and appreciation.
How
does this touching begin, I wonder. And I answer in the same thought,
it begins by listening.
Why
do we not listen already, I wonder. And I answer in the same thought,
because we fear and do not know the way.
Who
will show us the way, I wonder. And I answer in the same thought,
a mediator with kind wisdom and patient willingness to teach us......................................... NEXT
